Glasgow based Nicola Duffy had been dancing, singing and performing since a very young age, to the point where even the careers advisors in school knew better than to suggest a "normal" job for her. After spending her childhood years training in some of the country's best dance schools she was awarded a scholarship to attend the famous New York Film Academy. Most 18 year olds would've found a move to the busiest city in the world duanting but she took it all in her stride and on her return went straight into a musical theatre honours degree. Throughout this time in higher education she was also gaining valuable performance experience in teaching, acting jobs, singing in a Girls Aloud tribute act, dancing and choreographing for the Scottish Rockettes amongst other things. She graduated with not only her Honours degree but also the idea for starting her own business on her own terms.
In 2017 Little Mix Magic was born, and despite having no management experience, Nicola knew she could utilise her performance skills honed over the last 10 years to create a successful tribute band. It soon became apparent there was a real market for a kid friendly, family orientated tribute show and almost a year after launching Little Mix Magic, Simply Ariana was born. In the years that followed both acts could be seen on a Scottish tour, then a UK wide theatre tour, performing to thousands of people across the country. Clients and bookers were impressed with the attention to detail in the costumes, choreography and the manner in which the performers interacted with their younger audience members.
Even with two hugely successful tribute bands under her belt Nicola decided she still wasn't busy enough and completed her girl power line up with Scotland's first tribute to the Spice Girls. These three acts have now been brought together under the Pulse Productions umbrella with an aim to deliver high quality tribute acts that don't cut corners and bring you or your client the very best show possible.
The company is delighted to have had their shows perform in some of the UK's biggest venues and with some huge companies and brands. Director Nicola is incredibly proud to work with some of Scotland's top performers and is eternally grateful to be her own boss, doing what she loves. Who knows what the future will bring for Pulse Productions but we're sure it'll include top talent and amazing entertainment across the board.
